I am a retired accountant living in Tynemouth with no formal training in painting but, inspired by the wild unspoilt landscapes of the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands and the Northumberland coast line, I have produced a series of oil and acrylic paintings hopefully capturing the essence of these dramatic places.

My close affinity with the crags, gullies and cols of the wild mountain landscapes and the sand and dunes of wide unspoilt beaches emanates from many years backpacking and climbing in the Lakes, Scotland and the Alps, coupled with walking and cycling along the Northumberland coast. My paintings evoke happy memories for myself but hopefully will resonate with others who enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the north.
